Police: Conflicting statements in shooting death of Daniel Alford

BBN Staff: Police are still investigating the mysterious death of Georgeville resident, Daniel Alford.

Alford was reportedly on the Pine Ridge road when he was shot once to his stomach.

He was transported to the San Ignacio Community Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvette, investigators have collected conflicting statements.

One statement suggests that Alford had left his home with a shotgun to go hunting.

However, another statement said he did not own a gun and as such did not carry one to go hunting.

According to Myvett, the investigation remains ongoing.

Investigators have recovered the shotgun believed to have been used in the shooting but are yet to determine if it had been licensed.
