Murderer gets bail for death of Wallace Matura

BBN Staff:  Accused murderer, Dean Dawson Jr., 28, has secured bail in the Supreme Court.

Justice Herbert Lord granted him bail of $40,000 at the end of August after learning he had been on remand for over 5 years without seeing a judge.

It is alleged that in March 2013, Dawson was harassing a female child on Orange Street in Belize city.

However, Wallace Donald Matura reportedly intervened to protect the child.

That was when Dawson allegedly left and returned with another man.

After several shots were fired towards Matura, he survived but succumbed to his injuries in April 2013.
