Police Department accused of killing blind dog in George Street Vicinity

BBN Staff: Residents of West Street are accusing members of the Belize Police Department of killing their pet.

A source who wished to remain anonymous told BBN that cops were chasing a suspect early this morning but while doing so they fired several shots, one of which struck the dog in the head killing it in its yard.

The dog had reportedly already been suffering from blindness and posed no threat to the officers who took its life, according to our source.

For context, West Street is part of George Street territory which the Ministry of National Security has declared a state of emergency.
