Man charged for turning on cement mixer which killed Jeffrey Hernandez

By BBN Staff: Earlier this week we reported that Jeffrey Hernandez died after being crushed inside a cement mixer while on duty.

On Thursday Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, ruled that the death of Hernandez was accidental as the mixer turned on while he was inside cleaning it.

Well today new details emerged suggesting that the incident was not accidental.

Police believe that Victor Hernandez, 18, turned on the machine intentionally while the deceased was inside cleaning it.

As a result, authorities charged him with, “Manslaughter by Negligence.”

Magistrate, Michelle Trapp granted Hernandez bail in the sum of $10,000 which he was able to meet.

It is not yet known if the deceased and the accused are relatives.
