Police: 2 men from Benque Viejo busted with US $65,000

By BBN Staff: Police have detained two men from Benque Viejo del Carmen, Cayo for having in their possession  US $65,000.

Yesterday morning around 6:45 a.m., police stopped and searched a black Toyota Corolla car just in front of the Sandhill Police station.

At the time of the search, the car was being driven by Walter Jonathan Hercules, 35, a taxi driver of Benque Viejo and passenger David Cruz,25, also of Benque Viejo.

Inside the car, police found a total of $65,000.00 US currency in different compartments of the vehicle.

Both men were detained and are being dealt with by the Financial Investigative Unit.
