Career writer, Adele Ramos, wins Zee Edgell Award!

BBN Staff: In less than one year, career writer, Adele Ramos, has snatched yet another major award.

This time on September 10th she was informed that she had secured the Belize Film Commissioners Emerging Storytellers Zee Edgell Award.

She was selected for the award back in July during a luncheon in Hollywood with the Belize Film Commission,  the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH), the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, Patrick Faber, and the Consulate General of Belize in Los Angeles.

The award comes with a free subscription to a screenwriter’s software and membership to a scriptwriter’s network.

The date for the formal presentation is yet to be announced but in an interview with BBN Ramos thanked her supporters.

She thanked her former employer and KREMANDALA Chairman, Evan X Hyde, Myrtle Palacio, Denvor Fairweather, Steve Berry and those who have held her hands on this journey.

“Also thanks to the Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, Hon. Patrick Faber and Film Commissioner Nigel Miguel for recognizing and supporting Belizean talent,” she said.

She added, “I must also thank my parents, Abraham and Pearl Ramos, and the Almighty YAH, who sowed the  seeds of creativity.”
