Shooting victim, Darryl Berry, 29, wasn’t the target

By BBN Staff: Darryl Berry, 29, was shot twice to the legs while riding his bicycle on Fabers Road extension in Belize city around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday night when an assailant, reportedly with dreadlocks, opened fire at him.

He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where he was treated and released.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, Berry, was shot innocently.

As a matter of fact, he wasn’t even the target.

Investigations revealed that two other men were having an argument in the area when one of them went for his gun and opened fire indiscriminately.

No one has been detained.
