Undocumented worker dies from jumping out of moving bus

BBN Staff: A Honduran national is dead after sustaining injuries from jumping off of a moving bus in an attempt to evade police.

Police say that 24-year-old Carlos Jimenez, was on a bus carrying workers for the sugar company Santander when he sighted the police checkpoint on the Valley of Peace Road.

Jimenez was treated at the Western Regional Hospital and later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, but died of his injuries.

Investigations revealed that there was no documentation to show that he was legally residing or working in Belize.
