By BBN Staff: Yesterday shortly after midday San Ignacio police received reports of an armed robbery.
Delivery man, Elsworth Martinez, reported that he was robbed of $7,000 while making a delivery in Santa Elena Town.
However, later that same day police in Roaring Creek met Martinez in possession of $15,000 in cash.
He was detained for questioning but his employer visited the station and reported that an audit of the company’s finances did not show that money had gone missing.
However, that audit revealed that $3,000 had gone missing from the company.
According to police, this is a strange case but authorities are investigating.
