CARIFORUM-EU to host EPA Workshop and Business to Business Strategic Networking Event 

Staff: The European Union (EU) Delegation in collaboration with the Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA) and the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) will facilitate a one-day CARIFORUM-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) Workshop and Business to Business Strategic Networking Event on October 4th, 2018. 

The workshop will be held at the Belize Biltmore Plaza Hotel from 9:00am to 5:30pm. 

According to a press release from BELTRAIDE, the purpose of the workshop is to sensitise exporters, the business community and line ministries on the economic benefits of the CARIFORUM-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and to provide the audience with key requirements and tools to be able to access the EU market. 

Topics of focus at the workshop will include: 

–          Preparing to export to the European market 

–          Practical illustration of trade information sources 

–          Understanding EU rules and regulations 

–          The importance of Value Chains, Strategic Partnerships & Distribution Channels 

–          Trade information and SME support 

The release says that about 50 participants from local companies and government agencies specializing in Agro-processing, Agriculture, Light Manufacturing, Fisheries & Marine industries are expected to be in attendance. 

The workshop will be followed by an industry networking event for participants.
