Police arrest Belize City man in Caye Caulker for ammo and gun without license

By BBN Staff: Police in Caye Caulker have arrested a man from Belize City for having ammunition and a gun without a license.

According to reports, authorities responded to a robbery at Caye Caulker Fuels in Caye Caulker Village, and upon arrival, they saw a police officer struggling with Daniel Hughes, 19, a Belizean fisherman of a Belize City address.

Upon seeing more officers arriving to the scene, Hughes threw away a 9mm pistol with no serial numbers along with a magazine containing 11 live rounds.

Police then arrested and charged Hughes for the offense of keeping ammo and a firearm without a gun license.
