Corozal fire destroys home undergoing renovations

BBN Staff: Police are investigating a fire that destroyed a house in Corozal.

This morning around 3, police visited G Street in Corozal and saw a 20x 30 wooden and concrete house totally engulfed in flames.

Tara Shah, 26, reported to authorities that the house is the property of her mother, Sharel Montero who resides in the United States.

According to Shah, the house was abandoned for the past 5 years but was under renovation by a family member.

The house and household items were not insured and the total value of the loss is unknown.

Police are investigating.
