Santa Elena man charged for the death of Oscar Coc 

Staff: Oscar Javier Coc, 32, a resident of Santa Elena Town in Cayo died on a fatal traffic accident on Saturday morning around 12:15 AM.  

According to police, they visited the San Ignacio Poly-Clinic that morning around 12:15 where they observed Coc with head and body injuries. 
 

Initial investigation revealed that around 11:00 p.m. on Friday night, Coc was knocked down on Eden Drive, Santa Elena Town by a pick-up truck. As a result, Coc succumbed to his injuries. 
 

Yesterday police arrested and charged George Dawson, 53, a Belizean welder of La Loma Luz Boulevard, Santa Elena with the crime of manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, and driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention.
