By BBN Staff: British National, Roger Wallis, 63, who was arrested and charged in connection with an attempted kidnapping in Belmopan last month is asking the Supreme Court for bail.
Yesterday, Wallis Attorney, Hurl Hamilton made an application for Supreme Court bail before Justice Adolph Lucas.
However, Justice Lucas had concerns granting Wallis bail and thus the case was adjourned for next week Friday.
Last month, three children were making their way home from school in Belmopan when a white van pulled up beside them. The driver, identified as Wallis, asked the children if they wanted a ride. However, the kids refused.
Thereafter Wallis exited the vehicle and attempted to take the eight-year-old child.
The child’s siblings reportedly fought him off before he entered his vehicle and drove off.
Wallis has been living in Belize for over a decade.
BBN will provide readers with an update next week Friday if he is granted bail from the Belize Supreme Court.
