Yesterday, the court issued a ruling upholding his 8 year sentence for the rape of a 25 year old woman.
The incident occured in July 2012 when Perez offered her a ride in the Cayo District but demanded sex as soon as she entered his vehicle.
He threatened that he would shoot her if she did not comply.
Perez’s counsel told the court that rape had not been proven in the original trial.
However, the court disagreed.
Perez was represented by Oscar Selgado while the prosecution was represented by Senior Crown Counsel Sheneiza Smith.
