Jermaine Matura, 26, jailed for shooting eyewitness in murder case

By BBN Staff: Belize City police have charged Jermaine Matura, 26, in connection with the shooting of Thomas Ferguson Jr., 19. 

Last Friday Ferguson was shot twice near his home on Arlington Drive. 

Police had indicated that he remains a witness in the murder of his father and that is why he was targetted. 

Matura, who turned himself into police was charged with the offences of  attempted murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm. 

Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford remanded him into custody  until December 6.
