American retiree found dead near a swimming pool in Corozal

By BBN Staff: Police are investigating the death of an American retiree in Corozal.

Last night around 9:15, police went to the home of Robley Smith Rigdon Jr. on 6 miles Consejo Road, Corozal and found the body of a retired American woman.

The woman was identified as Claire Elizabeth Rigdon, 49.

Claire was lying face up next to a pool in the yard.

Police investigation revealed that the Rigdons were socializing around 4 yesterday evening and Claire fell asleep.

When Robley woke up at 8 pm, he saw Claire floating face down in the pool.

The body was pronounced dead at the hospital and now awaits post-mortem examination.

Police are investigating.
