Belize City cop victim of hit and run

By BBN Staff:Police Constable, Wilbert Chi, was knocked down by a vehicle this morning in Belize City.

According to reports, sometime around 5 a.m., he was on a motorcycle near the corner of Vernon Street and Central American Boulevard when a vehicle knocked him down from behind.

The vehicle refused to stop and provide assistance. Instead, the driver fled the scene.

The officer attached to precinct one was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Fortunately, he only received minor head and body injuries.
