The Ministry encourages specific at-risk groups to get the flu vaccine.
These groups include children 6-23 months, pregnant women, adults 65 years and older, health care providers, and persons suffering from chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, or on the advice of a consulting physician.
The flu vaccine helps to prevent the flu or the severity of the illness if contracted.
Mild side effects may include a slight fever, muscle pain, or soreness.
The flu vaccine is free of cost and persons in the above-mentioned groups are advised to visit their nearest health center to be vaccinated.
