By BBN Staff : Today, the Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with Julian Cho Technical High School and the Food and Agriculture Organization, is hosting its annual World Food Day event, at Julian Cho Technical High School in the Toledo District.

This year’s World Food Day theme is “Our Actions are Our Future: A #ZeroHunger World by 2030 is Possible,” which underscores the urgent need to step up collective efforts to reach the Zero Hunger goal.

World Food Day is celebrated in over 150 countries around the world raising consciousness and knowledge of the problems and reasons behind hunger and poverty.

Invited Guest speakers for the event were the Minister of Agriculture, Godwin Hulse; Principal of Julian Cho Technical High School; Simeon Coc, Chief Education Officer; Carol Babb and the FAO National Correspondent, Melissa Almendarez.

A total of 70 organizations from the public and private sector, Government Ministries, and farmers, will be participating in this event.

Fighting against hunger is everyone’s role to achieving #ZeroHunger, but countries, institutions and people need to work together to reach this goal.

Some goals of the World Food Day event are to establish #ZeroHunger partnerships, share knowledge and resources, develop innovative strategies and to discover new opportunities to contribute to the fight against hunger.
