As a part of this year’s celebration, CZMAI will be hosting its 4th Annual Coastal Awareness Week (CAW) 2018.
The event is being hosted under the theme, “Celebrating 20 years of promoting sustainable use and management of Belize’s coastal zone” to be held 22nd – 27th October 2018.
The theme will allow CZMAI and its partners to promote awareness on matters of national economic prosperity and improved living standards, aligned with the wise stewardship of natural resource assets.
The objectives of CAW 2018 are:
Coastal Awareness Week 2018 will feature a week of exciting and innovative activities that will include participation from a wide cross-section of the society including government agencies, local and international organizations, primary and tertiary level institutions, as well as the private sector. Specifically, the main activities that will be implemented during CAW 2018 are:
EVENT 1: Primary School Coastal Awareness Trivia Challenge, Tuesday October 23, at the Bliss Institute for the Performing Arts, Belize City, 9:00 a.m.
EVENT 2: Tertiary Institution Competition and Informational Fair, Thursday October 25, at Falcon Field, San Ignacio, Cayo, 9:00 a.m.
EVENT 3: Award and Closing Ceremony, Friday October 26, in Belize City, 6:30 p.m.
EVENT 4: Run for the Coast, Saturday, October 27, BTL Park to Baron Bliss Memorial Lighthouse in Belize City, 5:30 a.m.
