Suspect’s gun jams; possible mass shooting averted

Posted: Monday, October 22, 2018. 2:59 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: On Friday night just before 11 p.m., a horrible shooting incident almost occurred at Tasty Restaurant on Mahogany Street in Belize City.

The entire incident was caught on camera.

Footage revealed that the barefaced gunman appeared at the entrance of the establishment and struggled to get the firearm out of his pants.

After he was able to do so he pointed it to the back of a man who was leaving the establishment.

The gun jammed several times.

The gunman then turned his weapon towards the other men in the establishment.

He squeezed the trigger several times but again the bullets did not explode.

The man then fled the scene on foot.

None of the targets realized the danger that they were in until the footage was leaked to social media.

Police say that the gunman was involved in a prior incident with his first target sometime last year.

This afternoon the gunman, an associate of the Ghost Town Crips Gang, will be charged with aggravated assault.
