Burglary ends in arson up north

By BBN Staff: Corozal police are investigating a case of burglary that ended in arson.  According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett, sometime around 9 o’clock on Monday night officers visited the Patchakan/Xaibe road where they saw a building on fire.

The building was identified as a five bedroom concrete house belonging to the Maturas. According to Myvett, investigations revealed that the house was burglarized before it was set ablaze.

He revealed that it had been furnished but unoccupied without any source of electricity.

Police are investigating.
