By BBN Staff: Out west a villager was assaulted with a firearm over an ongoing land dispute.

Manuel Gomez told police that yesterday at around 9 a.m. he was at the TKO farm in Teakettle when four armed men approached him.

The men demanded that he open the gate to the farm and in the process they struck him with a firearm.

However, at that time a vehicle was approaching in the area which caused the men to run away.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett told the press that the gate leads to a road that connects the farm to another community.

He suspects that the men wanted access to their community but the new owners of the farm constructed the gate to keep unknown persons from traversing through the farm.

According to Myvett, the owners of the farm expressed that they constructed the gate for their own safety.

We remind you that just last week there was a shooting incident in this same area where the boss of the farm came under gunfire but escaped unhurt.
