By BBN Staff: Belize City cops have detained a minor in connection with an armed robbery in the old capital.
The minor, reportedly known to police, is expected to be charged shortly.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, revealed that on Saturday night at around 8 o’clock, businessman Mohammad Nasim Ahmed, was inside “United Grocery and Laundromat” at #68 Euphrates Avenuewhen four men entered the building.
One of the men pulled out a firearm, pointed it at Ahmed and demanded cash. Fearing for his life, Ahmed coughed up $500 and two cellular phones. The men then made good their escape.
At this time police are seeking the remaining three suspects who are all believed to have been residing in the immediate area.
