Tenant burns down home after dispute with landlord

BBN Staff:A dispute between a landlord and his female tenant reportedly escalated to a case of arson in the city of Belmopan.

According to police reports, just before midnight last night Damian Burns, 44, of Toucan Avenue reported that before his home was burnt down, he had an altercation with a female tenant that rents one of his rooms.

However, he went to the Belmopan police station to make a report but upon returning home his house was engulfed in flames.

The building and all its contents were damaged in the fire.

At this time, that female tenant is being sought by police.
