Boots remains ‘King’ of Port Loyola

BBN Staff: Last week, Port Loyola Area Representative, Anthony ‘Boots’ Martinez told 7news that Port Loyola is the kingdom and he is the king.

Boots made the remarks when he was asked to comment on a statement made by UDP contender for Port Loyola, Philip Willoughby.

Willoughby had reportedly stated that as soon as he wins the division, he would take over the office in the division.

Willoughby’s statement did not fit well with Boots and he made it clear, “you would say you put Port Loyola as the kingdom. There is only one king in the kingdom. In other words of one of the candidates would come out as the heir to the throne – when there is an heir to the throne, the king doesn’t leave, until the king dies and which in this sense, the king will die on nomination day sir in 2020.”

On Monday, Prime Minister Dean Barrow was asked to remark on the comments of Boots and Willoughby.

 Barrow asserted that Martinez was correct because any goods and services for the constituencies continue to go through him since he is the area representative of Port Loyola.
