By BBN Staff: On Monday morning, Prime Minister of Belize Dean Barrow hosted a press conference to inform Belizeans of future infrastructural and economic driven plans for Belize.
Barrow announced that Phase 3 of the Poverty Alleviation Project has been approved and is ready to commence immediately.
“There is $400,000 for home construction for each of the qualifying Southside Constituencies,” Barrow stated.
The project also includes $300,000 allotted for education and social assistance for Belizeans.
Barrow affirmed that constituencies are already submitting their lists of beneficiaries.
In addition to the implementation of Poverty Alleviation Phase 3, the Government of Belize plans to initiate a $10 million micro-credit program focused on assisting artisans, small farmers, and entrepreneurs in the tourism industry.
