By BBN Staff: The Belize City Council (CITCO) today issued a statement expressing their condolences to the families on Faber’s road affected by this morning’s tragedy which claimed the lives of 2 persons and injured a 13-year-old.

CITCO says that they are working closely with non -governmental organizations and the business community to provide the families with the resources needed to restore a sense of normalcy.

Additionally, the council has deployed an assessment team to provide a preliminary costing of the damages and thereafter the council will move rapidly to rehabilitate those structures.

“Any tragedy which affects our city residents impacts us as a community.  All our responses are being done without prejudice. At the end of the day when our residents mourn, as a city we mourn, as a council we mourn, as leaders we mourn,” the council stated.
