By BBN Staff: Mayor of Orange Walk Town, Kevin Bernard is in Washington D.C. participating in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).
The IVLP is the United States Department of State’s premier professional exchange program.
Leaders visit the US, experience and learn first-hand the Federalism and Electoral process in the US.
Bernard is participating in a multi-regional program focused on learning about the United States electoral process. The project is being administered by World Learning.
Bernard has visited the George Mason University School of Policy, Government, and International Affairs and met with officials from the US department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs and the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.
Bernard is scheduled to explore the United States federal systems of government, the role of the federal government in elections and political party campaign organizations.
