Mother and child knocked down on pedestrian crossing

BBN Staff: A six-year-old child is in a critical condition after she was knocked down in Corozal Town on October 31.

Abby Casanova told police that she was traveling in her Ford Escape SUV on College Road but when she turned left unto 7th Avenue, there was a collision.

As a result, Devony Palacio and her six-year-old daughter, Destiny Williams, were knocked down by Casanova at a pedestrian crossing.

Williams remains in a critical condition at the Northern Regional Hospital.

Police have since recorded statements from the driver and served her with a notice of intended prosecution.
