By BBN Staff: Yesterday, police-constable Osbourne Martinez was shot and killed while executing his duties in Belize City.

Martinez was responding to a robbery in progress at Belcove Hotel in Belize City when he came face to face with the robbers who shot him.

Martinez died shortly after while undergoing surgery at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Dean Barrow visited Martinez’ family to extend his condolences for the loss of their loved one.

All three suspects were caught: one was shot in the leg while being apprehended.
