BBN Staff: The Placencia community is reeling from the loss of a beloved young mother.

Selmi Franco, an employee of Tipsy Tuna in Placencia, was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her new baby.

According to reports, on Tuesday, November 6, Franco died at the Southern Regional Hospital after being transported there from Placencia.

The family is confused about what happened since Franco entered the hospital alive and well.

There are conflicting reports about what occurred, however, relatives believe that something went terribly wrong.

Doctors reportedly conducted an emergency C-Section to deliver Franco’s baby, whom survived.

A source informed BBN that there is currently an internal investigation being conducted at the hospital as a result of Franco’s death.
