By BBN Staff: Over the last week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belize in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia held a workshop to train Belizean handicraft artisans in using coconut-based materials.
The training was held from November 5-9, 2018 at the ITVET compound in Belize city.
A total of 45 persons participated from various agencies.
The training course sought to develop skills and knowledge of participants which are intended to create a platform for sustainable income ventures designed for sustainable development.
At the completion of the workshop, participants showcased products that they created during the training such as candle holders, table mats, bowls, mugs, cups, etc.
The closing ceremony took place at the ITVET compound in Belize city on Friday.
The ministries of Human Development and Education also supported the workshop.
The Government of Belize and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia established diplomatic relations on July 9, 2014 and since then cooperation has been growing consistently.
