By BBN Staff: Donovan Tzib, a senior quarantine inspector has been served with a Notice of Intended Prosecution for a traffic accident that claimed the life of a man yesterday morning in Belize City.
Around 11:20 am yesterday, Tzib was driving a green Toyota Hilux pickup (the property of BAHA), and traveling from the direction of Haulover Bridge towards Belize City when upon reaching mile 2, he saw a man crossing the highway.
Tzib hit the man causing him to sustain head and body injuries.
The man was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
He was identified as Arthur Requena, 56, a taxi driver of Belize City.
Tzib is expected to be charged this week.
