By BBN Staff: Two Belizean fashion designers and a record label owner will be representing the country in Barbados next week at the Firefly Show and the Cultural and Creative Industries Workshops.

Ashely Reid, of AJ Originals; Julia McCord of Juliemango Designs, along with Emilio Thomas, owner of Satuye Records, will be attending the events from November 17- 20. The Barbados Coalition of Services Industries (BCSI) is hosting the events as a part of Services Week 2018.

The Firefly Show is a fashion show which gathers emerging designers from the region to showcase their designing skills, while the workshops are geared towards capacity building for the participants, to improve their performance in their respective fields of the creative sector. The workshops will cover areas such as creating a unique value proposition branding and marketing, pricing, quality and standards, intellectual property, and opportunities available under the Economic Partnership Agreement for the region.

The participants will attend through support from the Belize Coalition of Service Providers (BCSP) in collaboration with the Directorate General for Foreign Trade in The Ministry of Economic Development, Petroleum, Investment, Trade and Commerce.
