Teachers announce demonstration tomorrow in Benque Viejo

By BBN Staff: Teachers from Mount Carmel Primary School have planned a demonstration to be held tomorrow in Benque Viejo del Carmen, Cayo.

According to reports, the teachers are upset over the delay of their salaries.

Some of the teachers claim that they have not received their September salary as yet while others are still waiting on the October remuneration that was due on October 31, 2018.

A teacher from the Primary school told BBN that they believe that the salaries are reportedly being withheld by the Ministry of Education.

The teachers are currently hosting an emergency meeting with parents. At the meeting, parents have come to the consensus to fully support teachers in their demonstration tomorrow.
