European Union approves $7 million Euros for Belize- Guatemala projects

BBN Staff: The European Union (EU) has approved $7 million Euros for Belize- Guatemala related projects.

The money will be used for the office of the Organization of American States (OAS) and for supporting projects at the Adjacency Zone between Belize and Guatemala.

The Foreign Missions of Belize continue to advocate on Belize’s behalf for support and share Belize’s position on Guatemala’s claim over our territory.

The European Union and its member states are all friends of Belize and Guatemala.

The EU has been the largest supporter of the OAS office at the Adjacency Zone.

Belize has sought the support of the European parliament to settle the dispute by sharing their position that Belize reject’s Guatemala’s claim and welcomes international support to settle the claim.
