American and Nicaraguan detained for illegal gun and ammo in San Pedro

BBN Staff: Today, police conducted searches at a house in San Pedro Town.

Inside the house, police found a plastic case containing a gun and 2 boxes of ammunition – one box contained (50) .9mm hallow point live rounds, and the other box contained (100) 9mm live rounds. A black and silver pistol Sig Sauer brand along with a magazine was also discovered.

At the time of the search,Mark Charles Lamela, 64, an American businessman, and Sady Gonzalez Arias,32,a Nicaraguan tourist were at the house.

Neither occupants of the house could produce a gun license; as a result, both of them were detained pending charges of keeping a firearm and ammunition without a gun license.
