Body found in New River still unidentified

BBN Staff: The body of a man found floating in the New River in Orange Walk on Wednesday remains unidentified as police have been unable to positively identify the badly decomposed body.

The body was apparently eaten by crocodiles and was found without both of its arms. Police say the face was severely disfigured.

A post-mortem was conducted on Wednesday, however, authorities could not determine the cause of death due to the body’s state of decomposition.

Police continue to investigate.
