By BBN Staff: Our newsroom has received reports that a drug plane that was allegedly destined for offloading in Belize last week near the Progresso Road in the northern part of the country landed in Mexican territory instead.
Mexican media outlets are reporting that the aircraft landed at the Chetumal International Airport on Friday.
However, the pilot and another man abandoned the plane and its cargo.
Mexican authorities searched the abandoned plane and found over a ton and a half of cocaine.
Investigations are ongoing.
