World Trade Organization workshop underway in Belmopan

BBN Staff: A three-day notification requirement workshop is being hosted by the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Belmopan.

The three-day session (December 5-7, 2018) is being led by a representative and a consultant of the WTO.

Belize, as a member of the WTO, is required to notify members of its trade-related policies, laws, and measures.

Providing this information allows governments, and traders, in particular, to be aware of the current conditions of trade around the world.

The aim of the 3-day workshop is to enhance the capacity of those directly involved in the preparation of Belize’s WTO notifications.

Participants of this workshop include representatives from the Directorate General for Foreign Trade, Central Bank, BAHA, the Attorney General’s Ministry, BELIPO, the Belize Bureau of Standards, the Customs & Excise Department and the Ministry of Agriculture.
