The welcome address at the event was delivered by Senator Osmany Salas, immediate past president of the BTIA and Senator for Non-Governmental Organizations.
Outgoing president, Raineldo Guerrero gave the President’s Address followed by a special presentation by Mexico’s Ambassador to Belize, Carlos Quesnel.
BTIA Board Secretary, Tanya Silva presented the revision and adoption of the 2017 AGM minutes, while treasurer, Pedro Perez presented the audited financial statements to the BTIA membership.
The BTIA also held an election and Melanie Paz of San Pedro was elected as the new president of the organization.
Stewart Krohn remained as vice chair, Pedro Perez as treasurer, Tanya Silva as secretary, while Rhoda Gill and Tamara Sniffin remained as board members.
Other presenters at the event included Executive Director of BTIA, John M Burgos, Executive Director of the Economic Development Council, Ishmael Quiroz, and project manager Gale-Malic Ozaeta.
