American woman raped and robbed in Ladyville, Belize

BBN Staff: A 49-year-old American woman reported to police that yesterday morning around 9:00, she was leaving her home in Ladyville, Belize when a dark skinned man accosted her in her vehicle.

The man was armed with a machete. He then reportedly raped her and stole an envelope that had $8,200 in different denominations.

Police are investigating.
