Transforming George Price Highway- No More “S-Curve”

By Delroy Cuthkelvin: It’s already well established that no other government has transformed the nation’s infrastructure like this UDP Dean Barrow Administration. And what’s happening now on the George Price Highway (particularly from Roaring Creek to Santa Elena) takes it to yet another level. That stretch will never again be the same.

A glaring example is the famous S-Curve which will no longer be an “S”, as it is being virtually straightened out by tearing down a large portion of the giant hill around which it wrapped. Then of course, there is the Roaring Creek Bridge replacement which is being built considerably higher, wider and stronger.

So, while Opposition members quarrel about the cost (as in the last House Meeting), Belizeans generally appreciate the massive investment to upgrade and modernize the highway, to increase safety and save lives. But you must take a look for yourself at some of the actual work taking place on the ground to fully appreciate the magnitude and scale of the transformation unfolding.

Indeed, with these kinds of investment for the future, our country will never again be the same.
