Over $4,000 stolen from cashier in Belize City

By BBN Staff:Police are investigating a robbery that occurred last night in Belize City.

Nathaniel Perera,22, a cashier at Benny’s Bargain Center on Freetown Road reported that about 4:35 p.m., he was standing at the entrance of the store when a man approached him and held him up.

The culprit was armed with a gun and he demanded the deposit bag.

Perera told police that in fear for his life, he was immobilized and the culprit grabbed the deposit bag from him.

The bag had $4,765 in cash in different denominations.

 Police are investigating.
