Kyle Chaplin detained for shooting at police in “GhostTown”

y BBN Staff: Last night police responded to shots being fired on Mayflower street in Belize city in the “Ghost Town” area.

As a result, a police patrol was deployed in the area. While combing through the community they saw a man on foot running.

Police pursued him but he reportedly pulled out a firearm and opened fire at them.

Police returned fire at the man identified as Kyle Chaplin.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, no one was injured during the exchange of gunfire and Chaplin was detained this afternoon.

He is expected to face a string of charges. He is expected in court this morning.
