Police provide update on disappearance of Anisha Young

y BBN Staff:On Monday family members of Anisha Young reported topolice that she had not been seen since early Sunday morning after leaving aparty on Saturday night.

Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo,revealed that Young was last seen at an address on Nargusta Street in Belize City with her boyfriend.

That boyfriend told police that when he woke up at about midday on Sunday, Young had disappeared.

According to Cowo, police have since joined search efforts to locate her.

“The police has been communicating with the family, they have been assisting the family in conducting searches,” he said.

He conceded that it was not a large number of officers assisting but nevertheless police have been of assistance to the family.

According to Cowo, investigators have received information that Young’s body may have been dumped either a few miles on the Philip or the George George Price Highway.

However, he conceded that he could not confirm that she has in fact passed away.

He said that he was simply sharing information that police have received.

Cowo revealed that Young’s boyfriend was detained and released after 48 hours but has since been rearrested.

He also revealed that several of Young’s friends and coworkers have also been interviewed.

However, investigators have not been able to link any of them to her disappearance.

According to Cowo, the Belize Police Department has also checked border crossing records to see if Young may have simply skipped town. But all indications are that she has not.
