Taiwan Embassy donates new vehicle to Belmopan City Council

Posted: Friday, December 14, 2018. 8:21 am CST.

y BBN Staff:Yesterday, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Belize announced via a press release that it will donate $24,000 to the Belmopan City Council to purchase a vehicle which will be used by the City’s Traffic Department.

The new vehicle is expected to address the dispatching issue of traffic wardens to heavy traffic junctions during rush hours.

“We applaud the Belmopan City Council’s efforts to ensure the safety of citizens and school children, tackle daily traffic challenges, and reduce the number of accidents at intersections. One of the key methods is to deploy traffic wardens efficiently to the respective posts to supervise road traffic,” the statement from the Embassy said.

The release ends by saying that, “for the sustainable growth and prosperity of the capital city, Taiwan will continue to work with the Belmopan City Council for safer neighborhood and communities.”
