Black Orchid Resort Manager invents all natural bug repellent

y BBN Staff:Beverly Dawson, general manager of the Black Orchid Resort, has invented a new, all-natural mosquito and general bug repellent called ‘Bug Off’. The repellent is made locally from 100 percent all natural ingredient.

According to Dawson, who is an avid fisher, the idea for the repellent came about after a fishing trip with a friend one day. Dawson says after their fishing trips, mosquitoes would tear them apart on the way home so she tried a repellent her friend had recommended, but unfortunately, she was allergic to the chemicals in the spray.

Dawson says because of this, her best friend suggested to her that she should try making her own natural bug spray free of chemicals. Following that conversation, she started working on just that. The repellent is made of all natural ingredients such as lemon grass, coconut oil, mint leaves and water.

It is an environmentally friendly bug spray and it is delicate enough for those with allergies or sensitive skin. The Facebook page for the bug spray is Belize All Natural Bug Repellent.
